Steffen Wild, CEO, Visual and Digital Effects Supervisor

Steffen Wild

With his background in graphic-design and photography he studied film production and digital imagery at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Steffen worked as a Digital Effects Artist and Producer for commercials and digitally created visual effects for TV movies and features in Europe before he moved to Hollywood in 1995 to work on the digital effects for INDEPENDENCE DAY. He became the Digital Effects Supervisor for Centropolis Effects, LLC, a Culver City based effects house where he was responsible for developing the facility's production workflow as well as the digital pipeline for the digitally generated effects on GODZILLA. Steffen then oversaw the creation of the digital infrastructure and pipeline for Mooncrescent Studios, an El Segundo based studio, set out to do high-end full-length 3D animated feature films as one of the Studio's Visual Supervisors.

Other credits in supervisory positions include THE FACULTY, THIRTEENTH FOOR, STUART LITTLE, BABY GENIUSES 2 and A SOUND OF THUNDER.

Filip Defoort, President, Director of Research and Development

Filip P. Defoort

Filip Defoort's rise through the scientific circles of the university of Leuven, Belgium's top technical university, culminated in his graduation at the age of 23, summa cum laude with a masters of science in electrical engineering. While at the university, Filip co-developed and patented the white-light 3d model acquisition system dubbed Shapesnatcher Technology and founded a company to continue this groundbreaking research, Eyetronics. Eyetronics' first product based on this technology was awarded the coveted European Information Technology Award, among others. Since then, Shapesnatcher Technology has been integrated into research and production pipelines for some very high profile and respected clients. This technology has led to the first major achievements in the quest towards the development of photo realistic synthetic humans for film and television production. Filip most recently designed and implemented the first turnkey digital production studio solution for computer hardware giant hewlett-packard, integrating 140+ digital workstations and a 750 processor render farm with full data and production management support.

Carolin Quis, Vice President, Creative Director

Carolin Quis

Carolin Quis completed her studies in graphic design, digital imagery and photography at the Fachhochschule Nuremberg to work in some of the leading design agencies in Germany. During the mid '80s, Carolin contributed to the birth of digital arts technology, as a Digital Effects Artist and Designer. In 1993 she formed Motion-Films, a company dedicated to high-end 3D and Live Action films, which won numerous awards with their short films in Germany. Carolin moved to Hollywood in 1995 to work on the Academy Award-winning visual effects of INDEPENDENCE DAY. She became then the Computer Graphics Supervisor for Centropolis Effects LLC, a Culver City based effects house, where she was mainly responsible for the digital pipeline of all computer generated effects. Her credits in supervisory positions include GODZILLA, THE FACULTY, THE THIRTEENTH FLOOR, A SOUND OF THUNDER and STUART LITTLE, which was also nominated for an Academy Award.

Through her artistic and technical expertise Carolin then played an important role at Moon Crescent Studios, an El Segundo based animation studio, where she oversaw the Visual Development of the studio's projects.
